Week 3: September 10 - September 14
On Monday, Tuesday, and possibly Wednesday we will be taking the CDT Tests. These tests will not be a grade!

Week 2: September 5 - September 7
This week we will be setting up our Interactive Notebooks and receiving our Science Textbooks.
Our focus this week will be on "What questions do Scientists ask?" (Chapter 1, Lesson 1).

New Topics in Computer Class: May 2018
Kindergarten: Students will continue using Dance Mat Typing to practice finding letters on the keyboard. Students will also use Keyboard Zoo on the website ABCya! to practice typing.
1st grade: Students will continue using Google Docs. We will be practicing correct line spacing, capitalization, and punctuation.
2nd grade: Students will begin learning about Internet Safety. We will be watching Netsmartz video clips and discussing the importance of staying safe online.
3rd grade: Students will be starting their Webquest. We will be searching for answers to questions on Google using keywords and reliable resources/websites.
4th grade: Students will be finishing their Webquest and we will be going over the answers. Students will begin learning about Google Slides, the tool bar, and how to create a presentation.
5th and 6th grade: Students will be introduced to Code.org. We will be learning what coding is and how it is used to create video and computer games. Students will practice creating codes on Code.org.

New Topics in Computer Class: April 2018
Kindergarten: Students will begin using Dance Mat Typing. Students will practice with Dance Mat Typing to become familiar with the keyboard and the home row keys.
1st grade: Students will continue working with Google Docs. We will be practicing inserting images, typing using capital letters and punctuation, and printing.
2nd grade: Students will be listening to books being read from Storyline Online. We will be answering comprehension questions about the books and typing the answers into Google Docs using correct capitalization, punctuation, and spacing.
3rd grade: Students will begin learning about Internet basics (search bar, address bar, back/forward arrows, refresh, and bookmarking). We will practice doing internet searches using keywords and reliable sources.
4th grade: Students will begin learning about Internet basics (search bar, address bar, back/forward arrows, refresh, and bookmarking). We will practice doing internet searches using keywords and reliable sources. Students will be completing a Webquest in the upcoming weeks.
5th grade: Students will continue working with Google Slides to complete their Novel Project (creating a story using 5 slides with transitions, backgrounds, images, and spell check). Students will be presenting their project to their classmates in the upcoming weeks.

2nd grade: Students will practice typing sentences in Google Docs using correct spacing, capitalization, punctuation, and special keys on the keyboard (shift key and enter key).
3rd grade: Students will begin learning about internet safety. We will be watching Netsmartz videos and discussing the different kinds of people that surf the web and how to stay safe on and off line.
