Week 18: January 2 - January 4

We will be reading Chapter 3, Lesson 2: How do plants reproduce?  This can be found on pages 92 - 99 in our science books.  We will be learning about how seeds and pollen play a role in plant reproduction, parts of a flower, and the life cycle of a plant. 


**Tuesday, Jan. 8: quiz on Ch. 3, Lesson 2 (Study lesson check worksheet, vocabulary, parts of a flower worksheet, and highlighted parts in book  **this will all be done Jan. 2 - Jan. 4)

Week 15: December 3 - December 7

We will continue learning about how plants and animals are classified in science class.
Monday: Chapter 3, Lesson 1 Vocab HW
Wednesday: Chapter 3, Lesson 1 Check worksheet HW (if not finished in class)
Friday: Chapter 3, Lesson 1 quiz

 

Week 14: November 27 - November 28

This week we will begin Chapter 3: Plants and Animals.  The first lesson, "How are plants and animals classified?", can be found on pages 84 - 81 in the science book.

**Reminder: Thursday, November 29: All day band practice at the high school (be sure to have all of your band materials!)
**If you did not do so already, please sign and return the green field trip form.

Week 12: November 12 - November 16

In Science we will be finishing up with Chapter 2: Technology and Design.  This chapter included learning about transportation systems, technology in school and at home, and the Design Process.
**There will be a test on Chapter 2 (lessons 1 AND 2) on Thursday, November 15.  Review Lesson Check worksheets and your Science book (pages 49 - 61).

**First marking period report cards were sent home on Friday.  Please sign and return the yellow envelope!
**Please sign and return the green field trip permission form that was sent home in Friday folders as soon as possible!

**Thank you to all who have contributed money for the Halloween party.  If you have not donated party money, it is not too late.  We will use some of the money again for Christmas and Valentine's day.  Please send in party money with your child if you have not done so already.  Thank you!

Week 10: October 29 - November 2

We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 1: What is technology.  This can be found on pages 48 - 53 in the science book. 

Wednesday will be our Fall Celebration.  We will begin getting ready for the parade at 1:30 and the parade starts at 2:00 at the football stadium.  Afterwards we will have our party in the classroom.  Please refer to the paper sent home in Friday Folders for costume guidelines.
**If you did not do so already please send in your party money!

Week 9: October 22 - October 26

On Monday students will be taking a short quiz on the Scientific Method steps and how to make a hypothesis.  This will be used in place of the back sheet of the quiz they took last Monday.  This will be used to help boost their grade or add bonus points if they did well (it will not hurt their grade).

**Thursday: Chapter 1, Lesson 4 quiz!  Study pages 25 - 31 and Lesson Check worksheet (will get back on Tuesday).

Week 8: October 15 - October 19

We will be taking our Chapter 1, Lesson 3 quiz on Monday, October 15.  **Study your lesson check worksheet (front and back) and pages 17 - 23 in your science book!

Students will begin reading and learning about Chapter 1, Lesson 4: How do scientists draw conclusions? 

**This week is the Scholastic Book Fair.  Our class will shop on Tuesday, October 16 during our special time. 
**Reminder: please bring in party money ASAP so we can begin planning our Halloween party.  Thank you to all who have already sent in party money!
