Monster Lab Project

Due: Tuesday, February 25, 2020

Planning Page:

1.   List 3 inherited traits your monster will have (ex: 10 eyeballs, 3 legs, blue fur) *pick your own traits!

2.   In complete sentences describe 2 learned behaviors your monster has (ex: My parents taught me how to climb mountains.)

3.   Sketch your offspring and 1 parent monster (make sure you draw your 3 listed traits)

Final Page:

1.   Write a story about your monster.  Explain the 3 traits and 2 learned behaviors you put on your planning page.  Be creative!

2.   Draw your offspring monster and 1 parent monster.  Be sure to label the offspring, parent, and 3 traits (on your offspring monster)

February 18 - February 21

To finish Chapter 3 we will be doing a Monster Lab.  Students will have to create an offspring and parent monster.  They will have to describe inherited traits and learned behaviors.  Students will be given Thursday and Friday in class to work on the Monster Lab.  This will be due on Tuesday, February 25.

Tuesday, Feb. 18: Lesson Check W.S. (if not finished in class)

Tuesday, Feb. 25: Monster Lab is due!

February 10 - February 14

This week in science we will be finishing up with Chapter 3.  After completing lessons 5 and 6 we will be doing a "Monster Project" to show inherited characteristics and behaviors.

• Keep a Clear Mind activity books will be coming home each Monday for you to read and get a parent/guardian to sign off on.
• Thursday, Feb. 13: Valentine's Day party (a class list was sent home Friday, Feb. 7)

January 27 - January 31

This week in science we will begin Chapter 3, Lesson 4 (pages 107 - 111).  This lesson is all about adaptations that plants and animals have in order to survive in the environment it lives in.

**Friday, January 31: PBIS Monthly Reward - electronics/board games (a paper with information about the reward was sent home on Wed. 1/29)
**Reminder: Please sign and return your child's report card envelope!

**Important: Field trip date has changed to May 1st!  New papers for PTO parents will be sent home.  Please look over them for information regarding chaperoning the field trip!

January 13 - January 17

This week in science we are learning about how plants make their own food.  We are in Chapter 3, Lesson 3 (pages 101 - 105).

• Wed. Jan. 22: Quiz on Chapter 3, Lesson 3 (review: study guide, lesson check, and book)

January 6 - January 10

This week in science we are finishing up with Chapter 3, Lesson 2.  We are learning how plants are pollinated and fertilized. 

Tuesday 1/07: Homework: Lesson Check WS (if not finished in class)

Thursday 1/09: Chapter 3, Lesson 2 Quiz (review Study Guide, Lesson Check WS, and book)

November 18 - November 22

In science class we will be completing our "Cargo Carts" and testing them out on a course.  This activity is based on the Design Process that we learned about in Chapter 2.
The next chapter, Chapter 3, is on Life Science.
